A Great British Bank Holiday getaway

Spend the Bank Holiday weekend at one of England’s best holiday parks

Looking for a Great British Bank Holiday getaway?

Her Majesty The Queen’s platinum jubilee is almost upon us – and what better way to celebrate than to spend the Bank Holiday weekend at one of England’s best holiday parks?

Whether you’re seeking some quality time with your other half, a full-on family get-together or a fun-filled trip with friends, here’s our round-up of parks that will give you a right royal welcome. Just remember to pack the bunting!

Padstow Holiday Village, Cornwall

It’s no surprise this park is award-winning – as well as all the on-site amenities you need for a perfect holiday, it’s in a spectacular location just a short walk from the traditional harbour town of Padstow.

The busy town is a paradise for foodies and, for active types, it’s also the start of the Camel Trail – a flat, traffic-free route that runs along the Camel Estuary through stunning scenery to the outskirts of Bodmin Moor.

And could you let the weekend pass without a boat trip on the Jubilee Queen of Padstow? Cruise the north Cornish coast in style on one of the boat trips that leave daily from the harbour.

After days enjoying the delights of one of England’s must-visit destinations, return to the peace of the park and relax in one of its spacious Victory holiday homes-from-home.

Coastfields Holiday Village, Lincolnshire

Just 100 yards from Ingoldmells Beach, Coastfields Holiday Village is the perfect place for a fun-filled family break.

The park has attractions to keep everyone happy, from top live entertainment to its Aqua Lounge bar and restaurant and the Ba Rumba sports bar and amusement arcade.

And as if that wasn’t enough, it’s just a five-minute walk from one of the region’s most popular theme parks – the Fantasy Island resort, with its thrilling rollercoasters and rides.

After a day of adventures and excitement you’ll be ready to recharge your batteries – and the perfect place to do that on the Jubilee bank holiday is in the private hot tub on the decking of one of the park’s luxury Platinum lodges!

Penmarlam Lodge Retreat, Fowey

It’s back to Cornwall for our next pick – and this exclusive lodge retreat promises a luxurious getaway with spectacular views of the Fowey estuary, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There are just 30 homes and lodges, including some of our best-loved Victory homes in this brand-new development on the doorstep of the beautiful harbour town of Fowey.

Whether you want to spend your time on the water – fishing, canoeing or sailing – or enjoying scenic walks or golden-sand beaches, you’ll enjoy a true Cornish getaway combining coast and countryside.

Back at the retreat, the immaculate environment is built for relaxation, whether you want to make the most of the communal BBQ area or enjoy the comfort, peace and privacy of your Victory lodge.

Seal Bay Resort, Chichester

This beach-side West Sussex resort offers a range of holidays including self-catering in Victory luxury lodges, as well as holiday home ownership

Seal Bay has packed the whole Jubilee weekend with family entertainment including games, activities, cabaret shows and a special ticketed event at the Lido to include street parties, high teas, live acts and even a visit from the “Queen” herself.

On June 2, there will be the lighting of a very special Jubilee beacon followed by a party and bagpipes on the beach.

The Lido street party will be taking place from 3 June to 5 June with tickets exclusively available to holiday guests and owners.

After more activities, including a showing of the BBC Party at the Palace on a big screen, the celebrations will be ended with a spectacular fireworks display.

Head to Seal Bay’s website for a full rundown of events to look forward to.
