Travelling for the right career

You don’t need to be local to work at Victory Leisure Homes. Hear from a member of the team who benefits from our generous travel allowance scheme.

As we continue to expand and invest in our future here at Victory Leisure Homes, we’re looking for hard-working individuals with a great positive attitude to join our growing team.

Manufacturing almost 3,000 high-quality, luxury holiday homes per year, our sites in Hull and Gilberdyke span a combined 290,000sq ft, with over 300 Victory employees working together to create holiday homes that stand apart.

With excellent travel links – our Gilberdyke site is five minutes off the M62 and A63 and just a short walk from the local train station – and with a generous travel allowance available, you don’t have to be local to work at Victory. We’re looking for people from all over the region to join our team at Gilberdyke, so if you’re looking to start a career in the manufacturing industry, read on.

Today, we’re hearing from a member of the team who benefits from our travel allowance scheme.

Gareth, multi skilled caravan operative at Victory

I’m a new starter here at Victory, and alongside working as a labourer I’m currently training to become a furniture fitter.

Previously owning my own cleaning company, working at Victory has been a complete change in career for me. It’s a very different environment and there are different skills involved. Though I don’t have experience in the holiday home industry, I was told there is always progression available for those who want it – as long as you have the right attitude and put the time and effort in to do a great job.

With the whole team working a four-day week – with a three-day weekend – I come in on one of my days off to learn the different skills needed to help me move up within the business.

I’m close to 40 miles away from Gilberdyke. But because I miss all of the school and rush hour traffic, my commute only takes about half an hour.

In my opinion, providing a travel allowance shows that Victory really values its team members, and that the management team care about supporting their staff. They’re giving back, and it’s definitely an incentive to work with Victory.
